Office of Volunteer Programs opportunity

New to Illinois Campus? The Illini Union Office of Volunteer Programs (OVP) invites new transfer and first-year (freshman) Illinois students to sign-up for an opportunity called Service First. Service First introduces new students to the local community through a half-day service project on Saturday, August 25th from 8 AM to 12 Noon. A light breakfast and transportation to and from the off-campus volunteer sites will be provided.

Projects range from environmental to food pantry to working with youth. Learn from group leaders of campus service about volunteering on and off-campus, meet other new Illinois students with a passion for service, and get to know how you can help the Champaign-Urbana community while you’re here.

To sign-up, go to: https://www-s.odos.uiuc.edu/nsp/ServiceFirst/index.aspx.Login with your Illinois NetID, enter your contact information, rank your top three service projects in order of your preference, then select whether you’d like to work indoors or outdoors. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation reminder during the week of August 20th. There are limited slots and registration will be closed once these slots have been filled. Projects are first-come, first served basis, so register soon for your best chance of being assigned to the project you want most.
